Section 11 information

Section 11 of the Argyle Ross Trail is the shortest section of the trail in terms of duration and comfortably the easiest to complete. It consists of visiting five golden beaches, one mandatory sea swim and an urban walk through Tuen Mun.

Follow the road down from So Kwun Wat until you reach the shiny Gold Coast Plaza and walk around the marina of the Gold Coast Yacht and Country Club. Soon you’ll be on the sand of Golden Beach and, if you have just finished Section 10, you will no doubt be tempted by a swim right away. As you make the short walk up the coast, Golden Beach turns into Cafeteria New and then Cafeteria Old Beach. Depending on the tide, you will then either be able to walk, wade or swim around the rocks to Kadoorie Beach.

From Kadoorie Beach you will embark on your last sea swim of the Argyle Ross Trail - so make sure you enjoy it! It’s a lovely, leisurely swim and on a clear day you can see Castle Peak in front of you and Lantau Island behind. You need to swim around Kadoorie Pier, over the shark net and you will soon be on Castle Peak Beach where there are some convenient showers and changing rooms, especially welcome if you have been hiking all day.

This just leaves a straightforward walk through Tuen Mun. Head west along Hoi Wing Road until you reach the bridge and turn right up the footpath following the Tuen Mun River. When you reach Tuen Mun Park you can either turn right towards the MTR or turn left over Tin Hau Bridge to start Section 12.
